As strange as it feels typing it in the heat and humidity of early August, the summer break is over. My son just started Kindergarten  and took to the new environment like a fish to the sea. After getting over this bittersweet motherhood moment, I excitedly welcome several hours of uninterrupted work time each day. First item I got to check off from my summer to-do list was this macrachet dream catcher. It’s simple, quick and easy to make, and versatile; and sure to add warmth and personality to any space. You can work it in jute, of course, or in cotton as pictured.

Tiny Crochet Basket

I literally never name my patterns, but I want to call this adorably short and stout jute and cotton basket “Boniface.” Every time I look at this chubby bowl, I think, “Boniface.” Like a peaceful, content, helpful monk. It makes me happy.

Teardrop Hanging Basket

I can’t decide which design I am more in love with: Boniface the tiny basket, or this elegant teardrop-shaped hanging basket. It’s worked entirely in jute and just like my Round and Square Jute and Cotton Stacking Basket Sets, it holds its shape beautifully. For a hanging basket, its size is quite generous – the inside volume is about 2 cups. It can hold all kinds of little toys and knick-knacks, accessible but out of the way. Win-win!

Jute Coaster Set
