After the hustle surrounding the recent release of my Jute and Cotton Bottle Carrier Collection, working on this arrow macrachet wall hanging felt like a vacation for my mind. Making it was quick, easy, and so gratifying!
If you are looking for a relaxing project that you can complete in about an hour, I encourage you to give this wall hanging a try.
Just like with my Rainbow Wall Hanging pattern, you can use any combination of yarn colors and textures. In fact, gauge is completely irrelevant to this project. The arrow macrachet wall hanging pattern will work with any suitable combination of yarn and hook, and you might end up with some amazingly unique textures and effects if you dare to experiment.
I stuck with my favorite combination of jute and cotton, though. I know jute isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I simple love working with it. It radiates coziness and comfort.

Arrow Macrachet Wall Hanging
MATERIALS
Sugar’n Cream Cotton
2 mm jute
4mm ( G) hook
dowel or stick
scissors
tapestry needle

Working into the back loop of a single crochet stitch

ARROW MACHRACHET CROCHET PATTERN
Foundation Chain
Chain 14.
Break Yarn.
Row 1
Place a slip knot on the hook. Bend 4 strands of jute in half over a dowel.
With jute strands horizontal and the dowel on the right, place the foundation chain below jute strands.
Work a single crochet stitch into the bump of all 14 chain stitches of the foundation chain and over all 8 strands of jute.
Chain 2.
Break yarn.
Row 2
Place a slip knot on the hook. Hold Row 1 with right side facing and the dowel on the right. Bend 4 strands of jute in half over the dowel and above Row 1.
Work a single crochet stitch into the back loop of each stitch of Row 1 (that is, into the 14 single crochet stitches and the 2 chain stitches) and over all 8 strands of jute.
Chain 3.
Break Yarn.
Row 3
Place a slip knot on the hook. Hold Rows 1-2 with right side facing and the dowel on the right. Bend 4 strands of jute in half over the dowel and above Rows 1-2.
Work a single crochet stitch into the back loop of each stitch of Row 2 (that is, into the 16 single crochet stitches and the 3 chain stitches) and over all 8 strands of jute.
Break Yarn.
Row 4
Place a slip knot on the hook. Hold Rows 1-3 with right side facing and the dowel on the right. Bend 4 strands of jute in half over the dowel and above Rows 1-3.
Work 16 single crochet stitches into the back loops of Row 3 stitches (there will be 3 stitches left from Row 3).
Break Yarn.
Row 5
Place a slip knot on the hook. Hold Rows 1-4 with right side facing and the dowel on the right. Bend 4 strands of jute in half over the dowel and above Rows 1-4.
Work 14 single crochet stitches into the back loops of Row 4 stitches (there will be 2 stitches left from Row 4) and over all 8 strands of jute.
Break Yarn.
Finish
Weave all ends in on the wrong side with a tapestry needle. Trim excess.
Trim the fringe to desired length.
MODIFICATION
For the above version, use 4 strands of cotton instead of jute for each row. Start with a chain of 14. Then, in row 1, work a single crochet into the bump of each chain (do not chain 2 at the end). Then, in rows 2-5, work a single crochet into the back loop of each stitch from previous row. Finish as instructed. Trim fringe at an angle.
