Crochet Clutch with Color Block Flap Crochet Pattern

A quick and easy crochet pattern for a crochet clutch with a bias color block flap.

This is so much more than just a crochet clutch. Pencil case? Perfect size. Cosmetics bag? Absolutely! Purse organizer? A great one! An actual handbag for a night out? Oh, you bet! Book cover, notebook cover, e-reader cover? Check, check, check.

Whatever you choose to use your crochet clutch for, be sure to make a couple extras to give away. I cannot imagine a woman over the age of 12 who would not appreciate such modern yet thoughtful and practical handmade present this upcoming gift-giving season.

About the pattern

This crochet clutch pattern will be a joy to work with, no matter what your skill level. It may be clear upon closer examination that I used granite stitch to make the whole bag, but I played a little with the construction in order to create an interesting effect that makes the stitch quite a bit less obvious. While an experienced crocheter may glance over the written instructions and complete a handbag within an afternoon; a novice crocheter will appreciate the satisfaction of being able to follow the written instructions and corresponding pictures to complete this small project within a weekend – all the while mastering a few new stitches and techniques.

In addition to material list, pattern overview, gauge tips and yarn substitution tips, this PDF contains a detailed visual guide. I wrote the guide with a novice crocheter in mind. I wrote it for someone who has yarn, hook, and desire to create something beautiful from scratch – and who perhaps doesn’t know where to start. This crochet clutch is an amazing place to start. Grab it for yourself, or gift the pattern along with the materials needed to a crochet enthusiast dear to your heart.
