SKILL LEVEL
This is an intermediate-to-advanced crochet project.
It requires constant shaping and tension management of both the stitches and the coil. In addition, it employs waistcoat stitch, a slightly more challenging version of a single crochet stitch. Moreover, to create a firm, sturdy basket, waistcoat stitch in this pattern is worked with two strands of yarn held together and a considerably smaller hook size than is typically recommended for waistcoat stitches. Due to these factors, this pattern is not recommended for a novice crocheter.
